چکیده

Starting from high energetic attrition milled mixtures of either -Al2O3 or amorphous (Al(OH)3) with CaCO3 the binary compound calcium monoaluminate (CaAl2O4) was synthesized with high purity. The processes were carried out on samples with the nominal CaAl2O4 stoichiometry. High energetic attrition milling of the reactants does not eliminate the starting carbonate, both batches showed a high degree of homogeneity and they behaved similarly on heating, forming CaAl2O4 at temperatures lower than 1300 ◦C. These temperatures are lower than that required for the traditional solid state reaction process. The CaAl2O4 synthesis path implies the formation of cryptocrystalline and crystalline Al2O3, CaO, Ca12Al14O33 and CaAl4O7 as transitory phases. The nucleation and growth of CaAl2O4 took place at 1300 ◦C and s ©

Effect of Heat Treatment on Structural and Magnetic Properties of Nanocrystalline SrFe12O19 Hexaferrite synthesized by Co-Precipitation Method

Nanocrystalline strontium hexaferrite (SrFe12O19) powders have been successfully synthesized using the facile Co-precipitation method. The ferrite precursors were achieved from mixtures of strontium and ferric chloride in an aqueous medium without any surfactant and soft template. The as-received powders were calcined at 800 and 1000 ˚C for 2 hours in air. The final powders were characterized b...

Synthesis of Boron Nitride powder by carbothermal method, using phenolic resin and carbon black and investigating the effect of additive of calcium carbonate

Effect of CaCO3 on carbothermic formation of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) was investigated. B2O3–C mixtures containing CaCO3 additive were reacted at 1500   for 120 min in nitrogen atmosphere. Formed phases in the reaction products were determined by powder-XRD analyses, and amounts of the constituents were determined by chemical analyses. Particle size and morphology of the formed h-BN powde...

Synthesis and characterization of nanocrystalline spinel Zinc ferrite prepared by sol-gel auto-combustion technique

Sol–gel auto-combustion is a unique combination of the combustion and the chemical gelation processes. In this work, nanosize (d) powders with compositions of ZnFe2O4 were synthesized by sol–gel combustion method. The puffy, porous brown powders as-combusted was calcined at the temperature of 750–1000◦C for 4 h. These powders are characterized by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microsco...

Effect of Synthesis Parameters on Phase Purity, Crystallinity and Particle Size of SAPO-34

An account is presented on investigation of the effects of synthesis parameters, i.e., reaction sources, silica to alumina ratio, acid molar ratio and crystallization conditions on the crystallinity, morphology and particle size of SAPO-34. The synthesis conditions were designed to produce small particles with narrow size range. The prepared samples were characterized by XRD and SE...
